Predict the detail → hear the first suggestion → wait for confirmation → note the final answer.

Predict what you need

Read the questions before you listen. A question about when needs a time or date; a question about where needs a place. You do not need to understand every word to find those details. Listen to the complete phrase so you do not confuse thirteen with thirty.

Wait for the final information

Speakers sometimes correct themselves. Words such as actually, sorry, and instead can introduce a change. Write the final confirmed detail. Try the training audio once before replaying it and opening the transcript to check what you missed.

Avoid this common mistake

The first time or place mentioned may be replaced. Keep listening for correction signals and use the confirmed detail, rather than the first familiar word.

Welcome to the town library. Our new student welcome session is on Saturday. It was planned for nine thirty, but the librarian will be in a meeting then, so we will begin at ten fifteen instead. Please come to the garden room on the ground floor. The computer room upstairs is being repaired. Bring a notebook and a pen. You do not need to bring your own books. The session is free, and it will finish before lunch.
